Research Boat

Archipelagos' two research sailing boats, Pinelopi and Niraeus, are used for marine research and conservation work, enabling the extension of Archipelagos' activities throughout the Greek seas and the NE Mediterranean.

Pinelopi

For Oceanographic Research and Marine Conservation actions, Archipelagos provides a dual-mast sailing boat, Pinelopi, of 16m length and 5m width. She is a traditional boat, a copy of a famous sailing boat of 1811. Pinelopi is a well-built vessel, suitable for travel in the varied weather conditions of the Aegean Sea and for reaching otherwise inaccessible areas. The boat is fully equipped with all safety and communication requirements as defined by the Greek Vessels' Inspectorate.
