The collection of kilometers of abandoned irrigation tubes in Halaris Valley, Ikaria.
We consider that the scientific study of such important habitats has to be combined with actions of restoration as a first step towards their protection. In order to do this, whilst interrupting our scientific research for short periods, we implement voluntary projects for the cleaning and restoration of such habitats in the eastern Aegean in partnership with the Department of Environmental Management of the Greek Ministry of Environment and the local authorities of the islands of the region.
